Items on Grocery List
Here are some healthy alternatives found at your local health
food store:
- STEVIA,
by Sweet leaf: It is 100 times sweeter than sugar, and has
0 calories, nothing artificial and has many nutrients. It
can be used in place or sugar, honey, or equal.
- CAFFEX
or CAFÉ ROMA:
Used in place of coffee. 100% caffeine free and when
made with milk or soy milk makes an amazing café
au lait.
- GROUND
FLAX MEAL:
Sprinkle on everything, including cereal, salads and in
smoothies. Its water-soluble and a great source of
fiber and omega vitamins. It also helps with regular bowel
movements.
- EZEKIEL
BREAD:
Cinnaman-raison or regular in ORANGE packaging. It is live
sprouted and a good source of complete protein. It is beneficial
for all, even those on a wheat-free diet. It can be found
in the frozen food section of your health food store and
many large grocery store chains. Both kinds taste best when
toasted. For an out of this world treat, toast a piece of
the cinnamon-raison with a little ghee (CLARIFIED BUTTER)
and natural jam.
- SILKEN
SOY YOGURT:
Instead of dairy, try it youll be surprised how good
it is. Mix with ground flax meal and fruit for a delicious
snack.
- ALMOND
BUTTER: A much better choice than peanut butter
for many with allergies. It tastes just as good, and is
healthier for you. Try some almond butter on a rice cake
with natural jam for a heavenly treat. Or almond butter
with mashed banana or a piece of toasted Ezekiel.
- BRAGGS
LIQUID AMINOS ACIDS:
Used in place of soy sauce, but has low sodium, wheat-free
and has a ton of vitamins and minerals. It adds a wonderful
flavor to veggies, baked potato, chicken, popcorn
and
just about everything!!
- SILKEN
SOY CREAMER: Better than half and half, with
no dairy and less fat. Try the vanilla or hazelnut flavor.
Tastes great in coffee.
- ALMOND
OR RICE MILK: Its not good to over do it
with too many soy products. Try almond or rice milk as a
delicious alternative.
- YOGI
TEA CLASSIC INDIAN SPICE TEA:
For CHAI lovers but with no caffeine and organic spices.
Add rice, soy or cows milk and sweeten to taste with
stevia.
